The Sleep Spectrum: Understanding Sleep Changes in Women Across a Lifetime

Women experience unique sleep challenges and patterns that differ from men and evolve throughout their lives. From hormonal changes to societal pressures, understanding these differences is key to improving women’s health and well-being. Join us for “The Sleep Spectrum: Understanding Sleep Changes in Women Across a Lifetime”, a compelling lecture that explores how sleep changes for women and how it differs from men.

This event will highlight:

Lifelong Sleep Changes: Explore how sleep evolves through puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause. Learn how hormonal shifts, physical changes, and life events impact sleep quality and duration.

Gender Differences in Sleep: Examine how women’s sleep differs from men’s, including differences in susceptibility to insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and other sleep disorders.

Cultural and Societal Impacts: Discuss how societal norms and responsibilities uniquely shape women’s sleep, from caregiving roles to workplace stress.

Solutions and Strategies: Gain practical insights and evidence-based strategies to address these challenges, tailored to each stage of a woman’s life.

This lecture is designed for healthcare professionals, researchers, and anyone interested in understanding and addressing gender-specific health disparities in sleep.

Why This Matters

Sleep is not “one size fits all.” Women face distinct challenges that require tailored approaches. This session bridges science and practical solutions to empower individuals and professionals to advocate for better sleep health for women at every life stage.
