Fast Forward: Translating Sleep Science into Public Health Impact

Bring cutting-edge sleep research to life in an engaging and accessible format! This event spotlights sleep researchers as they present their findings in 5-minute, high-energy talks, each focused on practical implications for health and well-being. The goal: to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and real-world application.

Event Format

1.Welcome and Keynote (10 minutes):

•A brief, inspiring opening from a prominent figure in sleep science or public health, emphasizing the importance of translating research into actionable knowledge.

 

Lightning Talks (5 minutes per speaker):

•Each researcher gets 5 minutes to present their work, with a focus on how their findings impact public health or improve individual and community well-being. Examples include:

•How optimizing sleep hygiene can prevent chronic diseases.
•The role of sleep in mental health and resilience.
•Insights into workplace sleep interventions for better productivity.
•The potential of new sleep technologies for managing disorders.

•After every 3 speakers, the audience has the chance to ask questions, fostering dialogue and clarity.


Networking and Idea Exchange (30 minutes)
:

•Researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and attendees interact to brainstorm how to implement the presented findings in real-world contexts.

Policymakers: Discover evidence to inform sleep-related policies and programs.

Public Health Advocates: Learn how sleep research connects to broader health campaigns.
